Layla is our adorable 5 month old Vizsla puppy. She is incredibly sweet, loves to cuddle and is full of energy!

We got her when she was just 7 weeks old from Busch Vizslas in Winnebago, IL (that was a LONG car ride!). Friends of ours have a vizsla that is now a little over 1 1/2 years old and we fell in love with the breed. I was not a dog person growing up, actually I was quite afraid of them. But when I met Piper (our friends vizsla) and saw not only how cute she was, but also what a good running partner she made I thought I would like to have one. Walter had always wanted a dog, so we decided a vizsla would be a good fit.

We fell in love with her the moment we met her – how could you not with those EYES! Having a puppy has not been easy, but like anything else once you get into a routine you get used to it. The love and companionship she shows us is worth all the accidents, chewed shoes and late night trips outside 🙂

I cannot get over how quickly she has grown! When we got her she was about 8 pounds, as of last Friday she was 29 – nearly quadrupled in size!  She has already become my part-time running partner and she is fast!  She is the real chocolate covered cheetah 😉
