Description

This Air Fryer Maple Glazed Salmon is crispy on the outside but still juicy on the inside.  Done in under 10 minutes, it makes a quick and delicious weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale

2 skin-on salmon fillets (about 1/2 pound)

1 tbsp olive oil

1/2 tsp sea salt

1/2 cup maple syrup

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp ginger paste

2 cloves garlic, crushed

1/2 cup cold water

1 tbsp corn starch

sesame seeds, optional

Instructions

Brush the salmon filets with olive oil and sprinkle with salt

Line the basket with a piece of parchment paper

Place the salmon filets in the basket, make sure they aren’t touching each other of the sides of the basket

Set air fryer to 400°F and fry for 8 minutes

While the salmon in frying add the maple syrup, soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger and garlic to a small heavy bottomed sauce pan

Heat over medium heat, whisking

Allow the sauce to come to a boil

Combine the cold water and corn starch to form a slurry

Pour the slurry into the glaze, whisk and bring back to a boil

As soon as it reaches a boil again, reduce the heat to a low simmer, the glaze will thicken

When the salmon finishes frying, carefully lift it out by the parchment paper

Brush the salmon with a thick coating of the maple glaze

Sprinkle the salmon with sesame seeds

Plate the salmon, serve over plain white or brown rice with a side of steamed green beans
