Easy Extra Sharp Cheedar Mac & Cheese

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds medium shell pasta
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 large cloves garlic, crushed
  • 3 tbsp white, all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 10oz extra sharp white cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare pasta according to package instructions, set aside in a large bowl
  2. In a large sauce pan, melt butter over medium-low heat
  3. Add crushed garlic, mix
  4. Whisking, add flour 1 tbsp at a time, butter and flour will thicken into a roux
  5. Slowly add milk, whisking constantly
  6. Add salt and pepper, mix
  7. Switch to a wooden spoon, add cheese 2-3oz at a time
  8. Keep mixing gently until all cheese is melted and cheese sauce is smooth
  9. Pour cheese sauce over the pasta, mix
  10. Serve immediately for best results
