A Le Tote Love Affair

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day I am sharing with you one of the loves in my life these days, Le Tote! Seriously, my friends call me the Le Tote spokeswoman because I am always talking about how much I love it and I’m never wearing my own clothes, haha. Le Tote is a subscription rental clothes service, you pay a monthly fee and they send you unlimited boxes that include 3 pieces of clothing and 2 accessories (jewelry, scarfs and handbags). Click here for a short video on how it works.

FullSizeRender-17(I got this dress in a tote and was able to wear it to a wedding in Hilton Head, SC this past fall)

I love to shop, but hate to spend money… so, for me, Le Tote is the perfect solution! I spend a set amount of money each month on the subscription and I get new things as often as I choose. They style your tote for you and then you can go in and swap out whatever you don’t like. I love that part because it feels like “free” shopping. Once your tote arrives (2-day shipping) you can keep it as long as you like. I try to send mine back within a week or so, so I can get as many boxes as possible and get my monies worth for the month ๐Ÿ™‚

(Fun, comfy, pants that I probably never would have even tried on if they weren’t in my tote)

Part of how I justify the subscription is that I try not to purchase the clothes in my tote. I try to use it strictly as a rental service.  So far I have not kept anything. But it is an option and probably a big part of how they make money… sorry Le Tote, I am probably your least favorite customer ๐Ÿ™‚ Everything in your tote is discounted and you can log in to your account to see how much the items in your tote cost. Nothing I have seen is outrageously priced, so if you are the type of person that hates to shop it could be a great option for you. I have been asked if I notice that the items seem worn and honestly they really don’t! There was 1 purse I got once that you could tell had been used previously, but everything else seems pretty new. They definitely screen all of the items before sending them back out and I’m sure replace them often.  Also, everything I have gotten in my totes has been clean! You can send back the items in your tote dirty and they will do the laundry for you – big perk!

(my latest tote, I love this purse and will probably break my rule and keep it… it’s only $29!)

There are some negatives to it, like, when you send your box back you have to wait 2 days to get another… but really? 2 days is nothing! As soon as your package gets scanned at the post office they start working on your new tote. It does not take more than a few hours from dropping off one box to receive your new styled tote. Some obvious questions are – But what if I don’t like it or it doesn’t fit? I rarely find that I don’t like something… I picked it out after all! As far as the fit goes, they choose the size for you when you select an item based off your style profile. You just have to trust them, even if it is not the size you would normally choose, because they base it off of other people’s reviews and how you have rated the fit of other items. I am not saying that every single thing I have gotten has fit, but that is really an unreasonable expectation. Most things have fit and fit really well!

(One of my Le Tote favorites, a black jumpsuit I didn’t want to send back! Oh and the pink, flower necklace is Le Tote too!)

The last thing I want to comment on is the customer service and perks. One time, about a day passed after I had dropped my tote off at the post office and I had not received the email with my new tote. I logged into my account and hit the live chat, I explained the situation to the customer service rep and within 5 minutes I had my new tote! Another time, they ran out of something I had requested in my tote (this only has happened once) they informed me before I received it and added in an extra item, so I got 4 pieces of clothing instead of 3 ๐Ÿ™‚ Lastly, if you decide to purchase your whole tote, you get it for a discounted price and your next months tote is free!

(Long black & white sweater and black leggings helped me feel stylish in Paris… haha)

So yeah, I love it and plan on keeping it for the foreseeable future. It is by far my favorite of the clothing subscriptions I have tried.
