Le Tote Giveaway Winner & Bikram Yoga Follow-Up

Happy Friday!

Thanks to everyone who entered my Le Tote Giveaway! Kristen, who said “Why would I like to try out Le Tote? Because it’s warming up outside, which means, like vacations, accessories, and fun, cute clothes are a necessity!!! It’s spring cleaning and my closet is ready to try something new!!” was the lucky winner! I totally agree with Kristen it is a great time to ramp up your wardrobe for summer. Enjoy, Kristen!

As promised, I wanted to check back in with you guys about how the rest of my 30 day Bikram Yoga membership turned out. I came close to meeting my goal of going 3 times/week, I think I went a total of 10 times over the 30 days, so not too far off. I loved the way it made me feel. My legs felt fresh for my runs and I found it very relaxing. However it was very time consuming, I guess because I was not really counting it as my work out, so trying to find really, by the time I got there and back, 2 hours in a day to go to yoga was difficult.

During one of my Bikram sessions, the instructor said “don’t worry if you feel worse today than you did yesterday or the day before, with this program you take 2 steps forward and 1 step back”. In that moment I was feeling exactly that way. One day I would be nailing the moves and feeling great and the next I would barely be able to touch my toes (not really, but that is how it felt). I have to give a lot of credit to people who really commit themselves to yoga practice, it takes a lot of patience! It did prove to me that if I focus on yoga and go regularly, I will get more flexible and it will help with running.

As of right now, I am not continuing my membership. Mainly because of the price, $150/month is way over my yoga budget… However, when we get back from the wedding/honeymoon, I plan to look into other options, Bikram or otherwise, to see if I can make something work. I think it is important to my running future.

Smile it’s the weekend 🙂
