January Birch Box Review – Month 2!

So the day after I posted about my First Birch Box my second arrived! I should have figured that it would come at the beginning of the month, but because my first month was the December box and I didn’t open it until Christmas I was not expecting it. It was a pleasant surprise! Inside the box was this sticker sheet:

You had your choice of these words to stick on your box to describe your feelings for the new year! Although I think many could apply, I chose…

Joy! I thought it was the most fitting because Walter and I are getting married this year!

Inside the box were my 5 samples!

Box 2:

Whish Three Wishes – Body Butter

I have been mainly using this body butter on my hands. It is made with antioxidant-rich moisturizers that nourish skin and protect from the sun. I like how it is not at all oily, but I don’t really like the way it smells, it is a little too perfume-y for me.

Real Chemistry – Luminous 3-Minute Peel

This is gel based, which is different than most peels or face masks. It binds with your dead skin cells and forms a solid. It is acid-free, so it does not burn at all and does not leave your skin irritated. I have only used it twice, but both times my face felt very clean and refreshed!

IPKN – Flash Cream Radiant Primer

When I first took this out of the box I thought it was another illuminator like the one that was in my first box. I figured out that it is actually a primer and I like it much better than the illuminator. You put it to your face before applying make up and it helps to brighten and even your complexion. It also has SPF 15 which is a nice bonus. This was my favorite sample from this box!

amika – Perk Up Dry Shampoo

My hair is not very greasy, I think because I used to spend 2+ hours a day in the pool. So I have no experience with dry shampoos. I don’t really understand them because whenever I skip the shower my issue is always that my hair is too knotty and dry shampoo doesn’t help with that. I did use it 1 day, it smells delicious and made my dirty hair feel softer 🙂

Eyeko – Fat Liquid Eyeliner

I really wanted to like this. I love the way liquid eyeliner looks when I apply it, but it does not stay on me… maybe I have extra watery eyes? I don’t know, but I have never been able to wear liquid eyeliner. I appreciate the fat tip, it helps make it much easier to apply, however, for me, it did not help it stay on.

My February box should be arriving any day now and I am excited to see what it has in store!
