Peanut Butter Banana Pupcakes

Peanut Butter Banana Pupcakes to celebrate the pup in your life. Homemade pupcakes for your dog with honey, peanut butter whipped frosting.

Our Little Layla turned 1 yesterday, so we of course had to have a little celebration! I made pupcakes for the occasion because what is a birthday without cake, even for a dog?!

It’s hard to believe Layla is 1 already! We got her from a breeder in Illinois last August. She was the only girl in a litter of 5. The breeder would send us pictures occasionally over the 7 weeks from when the puppies were born until we were able to pick them up. The photo above was our favorite!

Not too much has changed… her grandma made her a pretty pink bow for her birthday and she’s still a little bossy! But we love her so much!

The pupcakes were a very special treat! She seemed to love them, as did the other 2 dogs that came over to celebrate. Her boyfriend, Nugget, from down the street…

And a cousin, Mabel…

Layla helped out both Nugget and Mabel with their pupcakes – I guess that means she loved them! Or she thought, “it’s my birthday I get to eat ALL the CAKE!” hehe.

Layla loves peanut butter about as much as I do so the cake was peanut butter banana and the frosting was peanut butter flavored. The little bones I used to decorate came from this doggy trail mix by Milk Bone. They were the perfect size to add as a decoration AND so no one confused them for human cupcakes, haha!

Since it was her birthday, I let her lick the spoon 😉

Walter and I were talking about dog’s lives yesterday and, fun fact, the oldest dog in recorded history lived to be 29. Our birthday wish for Layla is that she will break that record 😉
