Everyone’s talking about the importance of morning routines and how having a solid plan for your morning sets you up for a day of success. I’m on board with this thinking in general, but I was listening to a podcast recently that talked about how it may be good to not stick to doing the exact same thing every day. When you do the same thing over and over again, your brain is on auto-pilot and you don’t have to do a whole lot of thinking. Changing things up forces your brain to do some rewiring, which can lead to growth and have an overall positive impact.

The great thing is, they are all made on the same bread: Pepperidge Farm Whole Grain Thin Sliced Bread. I like to make them on the Honey Wheat, but they also have 100% Whole Wheat and 15 Grain varieties. I feel good about starting my day with a slice of Pepperidge Farm Whole Grain Thin Sliced Bread because it’s made with 100% whole grain, doesn’t contain corn syrup, and two slices provide 3-4g of dietary fiber!

Avocado Lemon Cilantro Toast

When I need something really quick that is going to give me a quick boast of energy but also keep me full for a few hours, I go for the Honey Nut Butter Toast. The protein from the nut butter gives me the energy I need to power through my morning!

If I have a little more time but am gearing up for a busy day, I will go for the hardiest of them all: the Avocado Lemon Cilantro Toast. The avocado keeps me full and provides me with some vital nutrients to start my day off right.

The Butter Cinnamon Sugar is more of an indulgent toast option for those slower days when I can sit with a cup of coffee and leisurely ease into my day. It doesn’t have many health benefits, but it sure is delicious! And because I eat it on Pepperidge Farm Whole Grain Thin Sliced Bread, it’s an indulgence I can feel good about!

Ingredients

Honey Nut Butter Toast

1 slice Pepperidge Farm Whole Grain Thin Sliced Bread

2 tbsp nut butter

1 tbsp honey

Avocado Lemon Cilantro Toast

1 slice Pepperidge Farm Whole Grain Thin Sliced Bread

1/2 avocado

1/2 lemon

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

salt

Butter Cinnamon Sugar Toast

1 slice Pepperidge Farm Whole Grain Thin Sliced Bread

1 tbsp butter

1 tbsp brown sugar

1/2 tsp cinnamon


Instructions

Honey Nut Butter Toast

Toast bread

Spread with nut butter

Drizzle with honey

Avocado Lemon Cilantro Toast

Toast Bread

Mash the avocado with a fork, spread onto bread

Squeeze lemon juice over the avocado

Top with cilantro and a sprinkle of salt

Butter Cinnamon Sugar Toast

Toast bread

Spread butter onto bread

Mix together the sugar and cinnamon

Sprinkle mixture over buttered bread
