Cherry Chocolate Overnight Oats

IMG_2318Good Morning & Happy Friday!

Cherries are one of those things that I only allow myself to remember how much I love when they are $1.99/lb. There are a few times a year when you can find them at a reasonable price. Well this week was one of those times! Cherries were $1.99/lb, normally $8.99/lb – a mind boggling price. When they rang up it said like $15.95 or something outrageous and then the sale price took off around $12! I love deals like that, seems like such a steal! But really, who buys cherries when they are $8.99/lb!?

A while back I got pretty in to making overnight oats. So this week with all these cherries on my hands I decided to whip up a batch. Have you made them before? They are really easy and make for a super convenient grab-and-go breakfast. You have to use quick-oats so they “cook” overnight in the milk and yogurt.

I used Quaker Quik Oates, Vanilla Almond Milk, Chobani Non-fat Vanilla Greek Yogurt,  Hodson Mill Flax & Chia Blend, Fresh Cherries and Dark Chocolate Chunks. Layer in that order and then repeat until you reach the top of your jar! Put it in the refrigerator and let it sit at least overnight. I liked the cherries better than other berries I have used in the past because they don’t get too mushy! And cherries + chocolate… yum! The flax & chia blend adds some texture as well as health benefits – it is rich in fiber and omega-3s.
