Latitude 45 is located in the heart of Patagonia. They draw inspiration from their stunning natural surroundings to create the premium salmon products that are both fresh and delicious. They sent me some of their smoked atlantic salmon loin and it lives up to their promise. It is by far the freshest, most flavorful smoked salmon I’ve tasted!

Their innovation kitchen team creates unique and inspired recipes with their smoked salmon products and believe that there are endless ways to pair their product. They asked me to share this Lavender Panna Cotta with Smoked Salmon recipe with you to open up your mind to new ways to incorporate smoked salmon into your recipes.

How I stay inspired in the kitchen

Part of my mission here on Sprinkles and Sea Salt is to keep you inspired to want to spend time cooking in your kitchen through new, unique and always delicious recipes. When Latitude 45 shared this recipe with me I was so inspired by their creativity! Some things that help me stay inspired to create new recipes are the following:

picking up 1 new ingredient each week when I go grocery shopping – this practice helps expand my mind and my palate and keeps me accountable for staying creative on a consistent basis.

always try 1 bite – if offered a new food I always try at least one bite, this keeps me open minded and lets me explore new flavors and textures (you don’t have to like everything, but you should give it a try, right!?)

relinquish the fear of recipe failure –  if you want to be truly creative in the kitchen you have to be open to recipes failing, it’s part of the learning process. Through recipe fails I learn a lot about what does and does not work and how I can make it better.

Inspiration behind this Lavender Panna Cotta with Smoked Salmon Recipe:

I asked the chefs at the Latitude 45 Innovation Kitchen to share their inspiration behind this Lavender Panna Cotta with Smoked Salmon:

“The go-to for most with smoked salmon is savory flavors and creamy textures. Latitude 45 smoked salmon is very soft on the palate. It has an elegant finish. Our Innovation Kitchen wanted to play with the complex notes of lavender, while allowing the salmon to shine. We did not want to cover up how fresh and light our smoked salmon is on the palate. The lavender allows us to heighten the tasting experience, without overpowering the clean finish of the salmon.”
